Good Finds

I have been doing a lot of research concerning natural health. Here are some good finds:

Acne:
I have always struggled with acne. As a teenage and into my mid twenties there has only been one thing that took away my acne. That was acutane. For those of you who don't know what acutane is, it is a form of Vitamin A. The flaw of this product is that you can overdose on this form of Vitamin A. It can cause birth defects if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant. So, as a result I stopped taking accutne so it could get out of my system before I become pregnant.

I am always researching new skin care products and regimens along with organic makeup. Last year I found a book called "The Clear Skin Prescription" by Nicolas Perricone. It proposes the theory that our diet is what effects our skin. He spells out the foods that cause "inflammation" a.k.a. acne and which foods are good for our skin. He also recomends different supplements and vitamins.

So...I decided to try this new diet out. I have to say I was quite impressed with the results! My skin started looking much clearer and I felt much better. However, it was quite hard to stay strict with this regimen and I started to get lazy. But I'm gonna do it! I'm going to try to get clear skin again!

Cancer:
This is something that I have been researching this year. My mom died of Breast Cancer in November 2010. However her death was not directly from the breast cancer but rather from a heart attack. I have been reading a book called "Cancer: Step outside of the Box" by Ty Bollinger. This book focuses mainly on the alternative methods for cancer that are available. It has opened my eyes to the cancer industry we have here in the United States. There are some great steps to take to prevent cancer.
